Floating Strength: a free children's storybook about teamwork, starring Socialocca's rainforest animals

Written by Caroline Jones and Dr. Christopher Sutzko and illustrated by Ryan K. Hertel, free to download, print, and read aloud.

    SCRANTON, Pa., Nov. 2, 2026

Socialocca has published Floating Strength, a free children's storybook about teamwork and finding your own strengths, starring the rainforest animals behind Socialocca's apps.

In Floating Strength, an unlikely group of animal friends must work together when their home is threatened, and along the way each of them learns to recognize their own strengths. The cast includes the Toucan, Blu, Howler, Chameleon, and Inkaloo, the same characters who guide visitors around Socialocca's illustrated island.

The book is written by Caroline Jones, her third original book, and Dr. Christopher Sutzko, and illustrated by Ryan K. Hertel, founder of Socialocca.

"These animals started as the faces of our apps, and each one stands for something," said Hertel. "Giving them a story about working together, where everyone's strength matters, felt like exactly what they were made for."

    Free for families and classrooms

Floating Strength is a free digital storybook. Families, teachers, and librarians are welcome to print it, read it aloud, and share it. A short video trailer is on the book's page.

    Availability

Floating Strength is free to read and download as a 17-page PDF at socialocca.com/floating-strength.
