Socialocca publishes a free 2027 Social Media Playbook for small creators and businesses
Twenty chapters covering ten platforms, AI without the slop, and how to grow on purpose. No sign-up.
SCRANTON, Pa., Nov. 2, 2026
Socialocca has published the 2027 Social Media Playbook, a free guide to growing on social media for the people who usually can't afford the advice: creators, streamers, artists, freelancers, nonprofits, and small businesses.
The Playbook has 20 chapters in six parts, from the idea behind a good presence to a system for keeping it up, to putting it all to work. Ten chapters each cover one platform: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Threads, X, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and Pinterest. The platform facts were reviewed in October 2026, and the platform chapters cite 74 sources between them.
"Starting from zero followers is fine. Most people did," said Ryan K. Hertel, founder of Socialocca and author of the Playbook. "I've run social for businesses and helped plan campaigns for streamers with hundreds of thousands of followers. I wanted to put what actually works in one honest place that anyone can read for free."
What's inside
- The platforms, one chapter each, on how each one works and who it's for
- AI and craft, including a chapter called "AI without the slop," on using AI tools without losing your voice
- Growing on purpose, on building an audience you actually want
- Two free tools: a quiz that suggests which platforms fit you, and a calculator for how much time social media will really take
A new edition every year
Platforms change fast, so the Playbook will be updated with a new edition every year. Earlier chapters stay online at the same addresses, so links in articles and courses keep working.
Availability
The 2027 Social Media Playbook is free to read, with no sign-up, at socialocca.com/playbook. It launched in October 2026 and takes about two hours to read in full.
