Capybara offers free, endless calming music and nature sounds for focus, rest, and winding down
Generative music, soft rain, gentle water, and three cozy scenes. Free to listen, and installable on any device.
SCRANTON, Pa., Nov. 4, 2026
Socialocca today highlighted Capybara, a free app of calming generative music and gentle nature sounds for focus, rest, and winding down.
Background sound helps a lot of people concentrate or relax, but many sound apps come with ads, sign-ups, and subscriptions. Capybara is meant to be the opposite: open it, pick a mood, and breathe. Its own line sums it up: "Take a breath. Stay a little."
"Not every app needs to grab your attention," said Ryan K. Hertel, founder of Socialocca. "Capybara is there to give some of it back."
What's inside
- Three scenes: Unwind, Focus, and Drift
- Endless generative music
- Nature sounds: gentle water, soft rain, quiet wind, and evening crickets
- White noise in soft, pink, and brown
- A mix slider to balance music and nature
- Install it on a computer or phone, and listen offline
Availability
Capybara is free to listen to at capybara.socialocca.io. It is in beta. Headphones are welcome, but never required.
