A rainforest of free tools: Socialocca's 15 apps give small creators what used to cost a fortune

From proving your posts are yours to planning them, designing a brand, and writing a press release, most of it free, all of it on one illustrated island.

    SCRANTON, Pa., Nov. 2, 2026

Socialocca, an independent product studio, now runs 15 live apps for creators, small businesses, and online-first brands, most of them free, with three more in development.

Small creators are expected to look like big brands: a polished identity, a website, a steady stream of content, even press coverage. The tools and agencies that do that usually cost more than they earn in a month. Socialocca builds simple, focused apps that cover those jobs for free or close to it.

"Every one of these apps exists because a small creator needed something big companies take for granted," said Ryan K. Hertel, founder of Socialocca. "Proof that your work is yours. A brand that looks professional. A way to announce your news. None of that should be a luxury."

    What's on the island

Each app lives at a place on an illustrated rainforest island at socialocca.com, where visitors can explore them like a map. They include:

    • Pudding, which lets creators prove their posts are really theirs, as deepfakes spread
    • Howler, for writing a professional press release for free and publishing it on an open board
    • Shapeshifter, for accessible brand color palettes, with free lessons in color
    • Inkaloo, a retro website builder with no AI in it
    • Blu, for spotting what's trending, refreshed every 12 hours
    • Tempo, for planning a posting rhythm
    • Watchrr, a live status board for the internet's outages
    • Nvoka, a library for saving and reusing your best AI prompts
    • Fontora and Vectora, for finding fonts and icons
    • Quetzal, an emoji encyclopedia
    • Ping, which gives your notifications a face
    • Glyph, digital split-flap message boards
    • Prompt Master 3000, for improving AI prompts
    • Capybara, calming music and nature sounds for focus and rest

    Free first

Most of the apps are completely free. A few have paid plans for heavier use, and each one keeps a free tier.

    More on the way

Three more apps are in development: Arara, a free launcher for running AI privately on your own computer; Emberleaf, a workspace for keeping brand assets consistent; and Liana, an assistant for reminders and your calendar.
