Ping gives every notification a face: a pair of eyes that reacts to deploys, sales, and alerts
Point GitHub, Stripe, Vercel, Slack, email, or any webhook at it, and get an expression and a sound instead of another badge. Free, open source, no account.
SCRANTON, Pa., Nov. 4, 2026
Socialocca today highlighted Ping, a free, open-source app that gives notifications a face. Point a service at it, and a pair of eyes reacts to each event with an expression and a sound.
Developers, founders, and creators juggle alerts from a dozen services. After a while, every notification looks the same, and the important ones get missed. Ping makes the difference visible at a glance: a sale feels different from a failed build.
"We stare at notifications all day and feel nothing," said Ryan K. Hertel, founder of Socialocca. "Ping is a small, friendly way to know what just happened without reading a thing."
What it connects to
Ping works with GitHub, Stripe, Vercel, Sentry, Linear, and Socialocca's own Watchrr directly, plus Slack, Discord, email, and any webhook. Each event, whether a success, error, message, warning, deploy, or incident, gets its own reaction.
Simple by design
- No account: one webhook URL and one email address per channel
- Sound and do-not-disturb controls
- A privacy lock and a demo mode
- Open source under the MIT license
How it grew
Ping launched in early 2026 as a visualizer for AI agents and automated workflows. In October 2026 it grew into a face for every kind of notification.
Availability
Ping is free at pingreact.com.
